The Cedar Street Baptist Church is seventh oldest African American church in the City of Richmond. In November 1867 twelve members of the Ebenezer Baptist Church came together to start a church. With the blessings of members of “mother church” these members founded Shiloh Baptist Mission to reach people who were freed or just recently emancipated by Civil War who resided in eastern section of Richmond.
